2023 Award Winner

Stone Smith, a senior at Roswell High School, has been awarded the 2023 Coach Marco Scholarship. Stone excels as a multi-sport athlete, leading both the State Championship lacrosse team as Team Captain and playing football. Alongside his athletic achievements, Stone has dedicated countless hours to volunteering with Roswell's Youth Lacrosse program, giving back to the community where he grew up.

In addition to his athletic prowess, Stone exemplifies academic excellence as a true student-athlete. He boasts the highest SAT and ACT scores in his class and maintains an impressive 4.1 GPA. Stone has been recognized with various well-deserved accolades, including the WSBTV Georgia Lottery Scholar Athlete of the Week and the Georgia Swarm Youth Lacrosse Athlete of the Week titles. Moreover, he has received the RHS Tom Zachary Citizenship Award twice, along with the Roswell Rotary Tom Zachary Scholarship, Roswell PTSA Student-Athlete Scholarship, and Cobb EMC Scholarship. Stone's achievements extend to the field as well, with notable honors such as being named 1st Team All-Region in football, receiving All-State Honorable Mention in football, and earning 3rd Team All-State recognition in lacrosse. He also received the prestigious US Lacrosse Bob Scott Award.

Stone Smith exemplifies the qualities and values that Coach Marco cherished, making him an exceptional recipient of this scholarship. His outstanding character and achievements make him truly deserving of this honor. As Stone embarks on his journey to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this fall, he plans to continue his lacrosse career while pursuing his academic endeavors.
