2024 Girls Chooch Award - Rachael Lawrence

Rachael Lawrence is the first-ever female recipient of the Chooch Award, an honor given in memory of former teacher and coach Alex Chrzanowski. Alex taught History at Roswell for 26 years and was actively involved in coaching soccer and lacrosse at RHS, leading the boys' lacrosse team to back-to-back state championships in 2014 and 2015. This award embodies Alex's passion for community, coaching, and Roswell.

Rachael has been involved in Roswell lacrosse since elementary school and has played on the varsity team for two years, culminating in her election as team captain in her senior year. On the field, Rachael led the 2024 defense, topping the team in cause turnovers.

Her achievements off the field are equally impressive. Rachael is on the Principal’s Honor Roll with a weighted GPA of 96, never dropping below a GPA of 92 throughout high school. She received the 2023 AP Scholar Award and has served as a Student Council representative for the past three years. Rachael is also an active member of the DECA, Beta, Women’s Leadership, and Anchor Community Service clubs. Additionally, she participates in the UGA Hero’s AIDS and HIV Prevention program while working as a hostess at a local tavern.

This fall, Rachael will attend Longwood University on a scholarship to play Division I lacrosse, continuing her love for the game. Good luck as a Lancer, Rachael!
